Secret Recipe!

Tastes how it looks!

1/3 cup Large Flake Oatmeal
1/2 Scoop Protein Powder
1 cup Boiling Water
1 Handful of Blueberries
1-2 tbsp. Ground Flaxseeds

In a Large Wide Mouth, Hot Food Thermos, add Oatmeal & Protein Powder.
Pour in Boiling Water & Stir Well with Fork.
Add Blueberries & Close Thermos.
Wait 30 minutes.
Open Thermos, Add Flaxseeds & Stir Well.
Ready to Eat!

Dr. Tytus cannot recommend any particular brand of anything, but this is what he uses:

-Quaker Oats, must be Large Flake

-Weider 90% Chocolate Protein Powder 600g size, available @ WalMart

Whole Flaxseeds, which are ground fresh before use, or
can be purchased already ground.
Keep refrigerated or frozen to maintain freshness.

This doesn’t sound so terrible. but i have a question or 2!!!

currently i never ever eat breakfast and when i do i eat the worst things such as today (i did a really bad thing for a type 2 diabetic to do)i woke up and the first thing i ate was a handful of dark chocolate chips!!! yes i did regret it-i got a headache! but what i am wondering is if i begin to eat this mix in the morning will i rapidly gain weight since my body is use to usually absolutely no breakfast. this is a huge worry for me since i am already obese and do not want to get worse. i already struggle with my weight and want a solution. but if eating this makes you gain it may not be for me!!! :)

Hi Tammy~
First things first: Dr.Tytus would not recommend anything that would make you gain weight!
Secondly, Get Rid of those darn chocolate chips!!!
The key to weight-loss success is portion control!
Everything can be eaten–> in moderation!
Soooo…if you can’t resist a small portion of some empty calories (ie. junk food), and end up eating a huge portion, the answer for you is to totally remove all temptation OUT of your house!
You should only keep healthy food & snacks in your house, so if you have a craving, you will only be able to eat something healthy, but once again: Remember Portion Control!
Try to keep a schedule for yourself to eat a healthy snack every 3 hours, for example: a small cup of yogurt, an apple, or a handful of almonds. At the same time, also drink a glass of water.
This will keep you from feeling Starved at mealtime and help you control those portions again.
AND REMEMBER: Take a Really BRISK Walk EVERY Day!

Tammy, just to add to this, you will certainly not gain weight if you start to eat breakfast. In fact, you may even lose weight because your body will receive that extra fuel in the morning and help to boost your metabolism. Also having the right fuel in your body will help to regulate your insulin levels, just be sure you are getting healthy snacks, healthy meals and avoid the things that are bad for a diabetic (ie chocolate chips)
